“ In the land of bygone butcher shops and expert butchers, Butcher Boy stands out as the best I've known and experienced. Their meats are top quality, being extra U.S. Choice in everything. All their cuts are so good, nothing needs long braising to be tender. The Filet Mignon and Kansas or Club steaks are better than some U.S. Prime in California, and their beef tenderloin and prime rib roasts are without compare. Their turkeys are the best not needing any brining imho. The store itself has first vegetables, cheeses, prepared marinated meats and steak tips in many marinades and I've tried them all! Parking gets crowded and on holidays there is frequent police traffic control into and out of the parking lot! ”

They are only 3-4 minutes from her home in North Andover. She bought her entire Thanksgiving meal there for two and it was better than she could have cooked! The staff answering the phone is so nice and helpful. There is a plethora of mains and sides to choose from and prices are reasonable. It's better than using mail-order food companies for special holidays and events. ”

“ I just want to say that I have been going to Butcher Boy Market since it was a small storefront in Salem, New Hampshire in 1978. The store has expanded greatly over the past 45 years and although it has changed from being a tiny meat counter (with great prices & quality) in a very humble location, it continues to be a wonderful family owned market with an endless variety of meats, cheeses, pastries, veggies, imported, gourmet and specialty foods. Their service is impecable and although (like all of us) they had a bit of a rough patch during the lockdown, they are 100% back on their game. I love shopping here & any time I go in it brings back great memories of when my daughter was employed as a cashier there during high school. It's super clean and attractive with great lighting and endless selections. For the Yelpers who are complaining about prices, perhaps this just isn't the place for them. There are other grocery stores that are less expensive for price sensitive shoppers, but Butcher Boy Market is a little "extra" and that is what makes it special and I love that! ”
“ Chef in a butcher shop !! First off they had Lillie's Q Carolina BBQ sauce .. I got some wings "bell & evans" cryovac and a bone-in ribeye on the 2.5# side I left pics .. they also cryovac that for me as well so I could sous vide .. they also had some beautiful bouquet arrangements my daughter had to get my wife. With the protein - you get what you pay for so if you want a beautiful cut come here. I usually go to Whole Foods but love actually going to a butcher shop and buying local helps ”
